I love to paint and design dolls from paper and polymer clays. My husband Mike loves to make art from Driftwood from the Cumberland River that falls over the Cumberland Falls near our home in SE Kentucky. This blog is a chronicle of our work and what inspires us. A lot of my favorite things are antique dolls, surreal art and the sweet macabre if those two can go together. My husband is inspired by primitive art and the feel and smell of old wood. I hope you enjoy browsing through our pages.

My New Clown Painting
This turned out so much better than I could have hoped for. I think the sky is magnificent and I tried to make the clown blend into the clouds as much as possible. Let me know what you think

Today I worked on some dark outsider works. They are always a hoot to do. I can be anyone I want in those and creativity has no bounds. Today I worked on the Black Heart Family and did another Herschel. I think Herschel will turn out to be very popular. He has such character. I am including some pics so you can see. Any comments are appreciated. You can check these guys out Here

Todays Creations
Tornados everywhere today, but I have been painting up a storm. Today I worked on some outsider work. I have two wonderful characters: Herschel and The Black Heart Family. I think they are so full of nastiness. I love the Black Heart family-they never seem to do anything right and are always fighting. Herschel just never seems to get anywhere. You can check them out on ebay.
Tomorrow I am going to work on another Clown painting which is what I like best.
What I have been working on

Nasty and cold here today. It rained all day. All I want to do on days like this is sleep. The weather channel is predicting a bunch of tornados too. I wish it could stay 80 all year long. Maybe I should move to Hawaii, or Australia. I would love to visit either place. I am still trying to figure out my style and it is driving me crazy. I will keep everyone posted.

New Outsider Work
I have been working hard on a new series of outsider art. As a self taught artist, it is hard sometimes to get things just the way you want them. I think my work has grown and evolved a lot in the last few months. I hope that I continue to grow as an artist. I try not to get discouraged as quickly as I used to. I have been checking in to some galleries to see what is out there. Ebay has finally picked up some. I am hoping Christmas will be a good time.
