Wonderful article in Kentucky Monthly for October. If you get a chance it is a great read. They showcased Mikes wonderful wood work. Abby McWhorter tooks some wonderful pictures and we spend some great quality time together at the Berea Artisan Center for the interview.

Cumberland Falls Arts
I love to paint and design dolls from paper and polymer clays. My husband Mike loves to make art from Driftwood from the Cumberland River that falls over the Cumberland Falls near our home in SE Kentucky. This blog is a chronicle of our work and what inspires us. A lot of my favorite things are antique dolls, surreal art and the sweet macabre if those two can go together. My husband is inspired by primitive art and the feel and smell of old wood. I hope you enjoy browsing through our pages.

Count Down to Artistic Figures In Cloth & Clay (AFICC)
Just one month until the doll convention in Columbus Ohio and I am getting all geared up to be there and teach my first class. I hope my students are getting their dolls all sewn up and ready for paint. I am really excited as I have a lot to share. I want to give them more than just a technique but inspiration to create their very own personal characters. We all have a host of little people living inside, we just need a way to coax them out.
For more on the convention you can follow the link below.

Well The Market in Lexington Ky is over for another year and I am ready to start making new Klopp Kids for the next one. I had a wonderful time and I was so overwhelmed by the fantastic way my kids were received. I was worried they would be too dark for the crowd but they crowded me right out of my booth. YAY!! I have lots of birth certificates to send out and I have a lot of contacts to make but I am up to the challenge.
If you want to learn more about me and my Klopp Kids look around this page or check out the links to the right for my Etsy or Ebay pages. Here is a link to my Facebook page and I am all about Facebook shares, LOL.

Epoxy Sculpt Trial
I wanted to try Epoxy Sculpt because I wanted options. I bought it months ago and forgot about it. I found it and decided to give it a try. It is smooth, great texture and no long wait times. I love Creative Paper Clay but the wait times really make it hard for me to hang with it. I like to finish my projects when I am in the mood. So far this stuff is great. I added a pic below. I will have to give it a few more tests but so far I love it.

New Painting Today
It has been a very long time since I actually planned a painting. I don't know why. I love to paint but my dolls have taken over my life it seems, LOL. Today I sat them aside to work on a rather large painting and really enjoyed it. It is a little girl with stringy hair and a white mask. She hands up a golden flower to a sleeping moon as the stars look all around her. It is a rather serene scene with all the secrecy and confusion that goes with the unexplained. Take a look and see what you think. Any reviews would be helpful.

Beautiful Magazine for the Creative Spirit
I have recently come across a wonderfully creative magazine for doll makers to browse. The costumes are exquisite and since that seems to be the hardest part of the process for me this magazine is so inspirational. I have spent hours browsing the glossy pages of beauty and fantasy.
I have included a link for any who would like to see.
